<image:caption>Jetpack Harness This harness allows the user to be tracked and to navigate in VR. The prototype includes retractable lanyards attached to the VR controllers, a VR tracker on the back, as well as holsters for the controllers if the user decides to disengage them from the lanyards.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Lanyard Holder These lanyard holders were designed to fit onto the front straps and to support a retractable lanyard and allow them to move up and down. A set of bearings between the casing made the motion smooth. They were 3D printed on an HP Multi Jet Fusion printer. The lanyards gave a tactile feel to the throttle.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tracker Holder This part was designed to hold the VR tracker which both situates the user in the VR environment, and is used to determine forward or backward motion. It was designed to affix to the strap on the back of the harness and be smooth and lightweight so as to be unnoticeable by the user.</image:caption>

<image:caption>When we received samples of the Poseidon Z Touch keyboard, we evaluated them and found that the performance was lacking. We noticed that the spacebar key was sloped a bit downward (above left: original). This prevented the thumb from striking the key surface properly, and thus degraded the performance of the Smart Bar. I designed a set of keys to test our hypothesis, and to see if we could improve performance. The key with the -8 degree slope (above middle: preferred) had both the best performance, and was also preferred by the users. We published our results in CHI Play ‘16: Mockler, J., Faggin, E. (2016) SmartBar: Refining a Capacitive-Enabled Spacebar for Gamers Proceedings of the 2016 Annual Symposium on Computer-Human Interaction in Play Companion Extended Abstracts</image:caption>
